Symantec Completes ON Technology Acquisition

Toronto, ONT. - February 17, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of ON Technology Corp. As a result of the acquisition, ON Technology's stock (Nasdaq: ONTC) ceased trading as of Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.

This acquisition will allow Symantec to provide a unified solution that will help customers create a secure enterprise infrastructure. ON Technology's software distribution and configuration management capabilities will be a critical component to the end-to-end system Symantec is establishing to help customers build, manage, and protect their IT infrastructures.
