Symantec Canada Introduces Solutions Alliance Partner Program

Symantec Canada Helps Resellers Provide Customers with Quality Cost-Effective Solutions and Expert Technical Support for Internet Security Arena

TORONTO, Ont. - January 24, 2000 - Symantec Canada today announced a new Canadian Solutions Alliance Partner Program designed to help resellers provide customers in the small-to-medium sized business market with sales and marketing tools, support options and training programs within the Internet security arena.

Symantec's new program is a direct response to the growing concerns over Internet security in the small-to-medium sized business market in Canada. According to IDC Canada, 99.2 percent of Canadian companies have less than 500 employees.

A world leader in Internet Content Security, Symantec's program allows resellers to deliver a consistent content security message to customers in this fast growing segment. According to AC Neilsen Research from November 1999, the Canadian small-to-medium sized business market grew by 16 percent year-over-year. In 1999, the revenue growth for Symantec Canada in the small-to-medium business market grew by 67 percent year-over-year.

"Symantec is committed to offering resellers the tools and knowledge required to service customers concerned with Internet Content Security," said Chris Monnette, General Manager, Symantec Canada. "This is the first Symantec initiative of its kind in Canada and we hope to establish stronger relationships with resellers by assisting in the service and support for their valued customers."

Easy Flexible Program
Symantec offers three different membership levels to ensure everyone can participate in the program - Associate Partner, Partner and Executive Partner. The level of program membership a reseller receives is determined by the reseller's Symantec revenue. Also, there are no program fees required to participate in the program.

Among the various program offerings are: Symantec reference guide book, product portfolio CD, technical support, monthly news bulletin, seminars and access to a secure website.
